CONSERVATION AND CLEANLINESS
OF WORKS OF CHINA, STONE AND CERAMICS
China and Ceramics
The cleanliness of the works of china and ceramics must be realized by lukewarm water and detergent soap. This operation must be carried out inside a plastic receptacle, in order to prepare possible blows. It is easy to preserve a piece of these characteristics, since they are not affected by the light or the chemical agents.
When the china is very dirty, the best remedy is to add a few ammonia drops to the water. If you want to whiten it, dip the objects in lukewarm water with a little of lye. The remains of lime, accumulated in vases and receptacles, are eliminated leaving them a few hours full of lukewarm water with an anticalcareous one or vinegar. If the work is ceramic it is stained the piece is covered with humid salt or bicarbonate with water forming a pasta species and one allows to rest a little bit, so that adsorba the spot. Then it is rinsed by cold water.
Stone
If the work realized in stone is not porous it can be cleaned of dust and of dirt by means of the action of a brushing, distilled water and soap.
To clean the (lime) porous stones to never use liquids. The best solution is that of applying on his surface a layer of silicate of magnesium in dust and brushing later.
